< Summary >
Korea Automotive Industry Exhibition (KOAASHOW 2015), South Korea’s leading automotive industry show, was successfully held at KINTEX in Seoul, Korea from October 20, 2015 through October 22, 2015. KOAASHOW, co-organized and co-hosted by AIN Global Foundation and KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency), celebrated its 12th anniversary in 2015 and has continued to grow every year. In 2015, 321 companies from 11 countries participated in KOAASHOW; 16,454 visitors from more than 60 countries, including the United States, Germany, Italy, China, India, Taiwan, Singapore, etc., also visited KOAASHOW, which made this year’s KOAASHOW a great success.

< Exhibitors and Visitors Survey >
Based on KOAASHOW 2015 survey, the majority of exhibitors and visitors were satisfied or very satisfied, and many of the exhibitors responded that they would be willing to participate again. According to the survey, more than 70% of the exhibitors and visitors were able to achieve tangible results by meeting with many of Korea’s leading automotive parts suppliers. In particular, many of the participants gave very positive response to the 'One-on-one Business Meeting' program of KOAASHOW, which identified the needs of suppliers and buyers in advance and arranged the meetings tailored and suited to the needs of both parties during the exhibition.
 

 
 
 

 
 
 
 
 
 






< One-on-One Business Meeting >
On October 20th and 21st, 2,551 ‘One-on-one Business Meetings’ were held, in which 134 buyers from 42 countries and the exhibitors of KOAASHOW were able to meet and discuss. By matching the enterprises that possess domestic Tier-1 class products and up-to-date technologies for the items required by the world's automakers and large retailers, KOAASHOW provided an opportunity for the exhibitors to enter and expand their business into the overseas markets. Many reputable overseas buyers interested in the Korean market, including Daimler, Volkswagen, TATA, Bosch, MTBML, and GM, have participated in KOAAHSOW, and as a result, KOAASHOW’s position and reputation in the market continue to increase every year.

< KOREA-EU AUTO FORUM >
AIN Global Foundation has assisted the domestic auto parts suppliers in expanding their business into overseas market by inviting every year the US ‘Big 3’, as well as the major European automakers and their purchasing teams. As part of such efforts, AIN Global hosted a symposium, “Strategy for Overseas Expansion into European Automobile Market,” where useful information, such as the latest market situation in Europe, as well as the issues and parts that would interest the purchasing teams of the automakers, was discussed in depth. This year in particular, German Daimler AG (Mercedes-Benz) attended the symposium and discussed its basic purchasing strategy, as well as its future plan for sourcing with regard to full-length, lightweight, and IT technologies.

KOAASHOW has grown steadily over the past 10 years, as a representative of the Korea Automobile Industry Exhibition. KOAASHOW has successfully served as a venue for leading overseas automotive industry to enter into Korean automobile market, and at the same time as a platform for Korean companies to expand their business into the overseas market. Since 1988 when the Korean market was completely open to foreign automakers and imported cars, the market share for imported cars has been steadily increasing, now approaching 20% of the market.
